Kostroma Christian Church

For two decades, the members of Kostroma Christian Church (KCC) have been taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their community, a community devastated by seventy years of the godlessness of communism. Founded by American missionaries Ron and Ginny Cook in November 1992, the church became legally recognized by the Russian government March 27, 1993. The Church has expanded from two-hour meetings on Sunday mornings in a rented movie theater, to a vibrant ministry reaching the community around them. KCC is now located on a campus that also houses the Light To The World Christian Academy.

The church and academy have all Russian leadership who work in partnership with Mission to Russia. Reaching beyond Kostroma, the ministry has become a platform to assist sister congregations in replicating and expanding the ministry of God’s love that still serves as its own foundation.

The leadership is now establishing the Kostroma Christian Training Center. Their primary goal is to train young men to be effective leaders for the purpose of planting new congregations of believers in Russia. At the same time, any Christian desiring to learn will have the opportunity to study the Bible on a deeper level, learn to be confident in sharing their faith, and personally mature as a Christian.
